Greta Ruiz

Artist's Statement:

The Natural World is my main inspiration. I am influenced by the beauty of the New Mexico landscape and the clarity of the light here. I enjoy long walks along mesas and arroyos, visiting mountain tops collecting pieces of weathered wood and rocks.

My work is of the Earth itself both in materials and spirit. Working intuitively allows mystery to enter my pieces, revealing itself over time. I strive to invoke the power of elemental Earth energy creating ancient beings who come to be in a new and playful way.
