NMPCA Ghost Ranch workshop

In 2013, The New Mexico Potters and Clay Artists are proud to host a workshop featuring guest artist, Jody Folwell, a renowned Santa Clara potter whose work
spans traditional and contemporary ceramics. Jody will demonstrate and guide us in an exploration of contemporary Pueblo Pottery.

In this hands‐on workshop, working with the Santa Clara clay, Jody will demonstrate both hand building forms, and carving and incising the designs. Jody will explain the two‐year process of preparing the clay.
Then, she will demonstrate how she builds the shapes and finishes the forms. Participants will work with these techniques. Jody will discuss her design process and philosophy of working with clay.

Accommodations at Ghost Ranch range from camping to a variety of rooms with private or shared bath. Meals are served in the central dining room.  Workshop events take place in the covered outdoor ceramic art studio called “Pot Hollow.”
