Artist's Statement:

H. Joseph Frey has been creative his whole life. Partly self taught, partly university trained, his artistic endeavors have ranged from metal arts to leather arts to clay to canvas paintings and more. Joe takes most of his inspiration from the natural world around us. Believing in the Creator, and that his artwork is His gift, it is Joe's special form of worship and thanksgiving. He has a special concern for the conservation of the limited resources of our earth and the precious wildlife that shares our planet. He hopes to bring some of this wonder of the natural world into public awareness with his art.

Joe painstakingly carves the the original tile mural then makes plaster press type molds. He presses the clay into the molds to make the tiles. Each tile is detailed and glazed, in the same precise elaborate style of his paintings.
