Ghost Ranch Workshop |
| Presenters: |
| Brian Gartside from Pukekohe, New Zealand
gave a presentation titled "Creating Surface Design and
Glaze Texture" which set the tone of inspiration and
quality for the workshop. |
| Cheryl Crownover from Santa Fe gave a meticulous
demonstration of "Handbuilding Techniques" for functional
work. |
| Jillian Sandrock of Santa Fe gave a presentation
on "Financial Planning for Artists" with recommendations
for preparation for retirement and other ideas for financial
planning. |
| Judy Nelson-Moore from Santa Fe gave a demonstration
on "Saggar Firing" and participants had the opportunity
to saggar fire a few pieces. Jim Kempes fired the kilns for
us. |
| Barbara Campbell from El Rito gave a demonstration
on hand building techniques titled "Drape-Molded Vessels" |
| Cricket Appel from Albuquerque gave another
meticulous demonstration on "Mold Making" showing
how to make a multiple-piece mold for slip casting. |
| Christine Evans from Albuquerque shows how
she does "Clay Tile Relief" and participants had
the opportunity to work in clay to try out these techniques.

| Elizabeth Rose from Galisteo gave a lively
demonstration of "Sculptural Techniques" using non-traditional
methods of working in clay. |
|
Participation in the 2004 Ghost Ranch "New
Mexico Connections" workshop was lively. 32 people attended.
We all thank Gary Carlson for his work in coordinating the workshops
for the last several years. This was a great workshop to go out
on, Gary! |
