I first threw pots at Taft Junior High School, though I did not throw again until entering college at NMSU. While at college I was fortunate enough to be involved with a group of talented California potters and participated in the planning and building of stoneware, salt, and raku kilns as well as a foundry. After obtaining my degree, I built a studio with multiple kilns in a wilderness setting on the Pecos River near Ft Sumner, NM. Upon returning to Albuquerque, I enrolled @ UNM and received intense training from Dr. Jim Srubek in the Japanese "Arita" style porcelain methods. I was also fortunate to receive personal instruction from Sinsei Manji Inoue a national living treasure in Japan. Jim Srubek joined me in my current Studio in the North Valley upon retirement where I continued to develop her skills in the "Arita" style. My studio is a cooperative group working mostly with wheel thrown pottery and porcelain sculpture.
