Artist Statement

Jo Anne DeKeuster, Taos, New MexicoI enjoy working with white stoneware clay to create my sculptural forms. The contrast between rough and smooth textures, play a big part in my slab built work. As I construct my pieces my focus is on form, design, and composition. I then turn my artwork over to the kiln, allowing the flames and ash to enhance my creation.

I was recently selected to be in a new publication titled “Wood Fired Ceramics- 100 Contemporary Artists”. My work, and the work of my husband Kevin, can be seen at Enchanted Circle Pottery near Taos New Mexico. Together we wish to invite you to stop by our studio, gallery and kiln. Enchanted Circle Pottery was selected the “Best Art Studio/Gallery in New Mexico 2011”.
