Albuquerque Empty Bowls: A Community Coming Together

Join us this Saturday, October 24, 2026, for Albuquerque Empty Bowls!

This fundraiser would not be possible without the incredible support of our membership and the Albuquerque ceramics community. Thanks to the generosity of local ceramics studios and our members, we have collected an amazing 1,038 bowls!

But the bowls are just one part of what makes this event special. We have 65 dedicated volunteers ready to help make the event a success, along with the wonderful staff at Saint John’s United Methodist Church, who are lending a helping hand.

To keep things moving smoothly, two serving lines will be available to welcome guests and keep the crowd flowing. And what would an Empty Bowls fundraiser be without delicious food? Sixteen local restaurants and businesses have generously donated their time, food, and resources to help fill those bowls.

Every donation, every volunteer hour, and every bowl represents the power of our community coming together to make a difference.

Thank you to everyone who has helped bring Albuquerque Empty Bowls to life. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday as we support The Storehouse New Mexico!

  • 2024 raising over $20,000 
  • 2023 raising over  $20,000
All funds raised benefit The Storehouse New Mexico. We are working on this year's Albuquerque Empty Bowls the event will be in Albuquerque, 

Saturday, October 24th 2026 at St. John’s UMC  

What is new this year,  we are expanding, with two serving lines and more seating.

The Storehouse New Mexico, was very please with the results of the fundraiser along with members of the committee.   On December 5, 2023 we all got together to go over the results of the Albuquerque Empty bowls fundraiser. We went over the survey that the Storehouse New Mexico conducted to improve the fundraiser.  We all want next year’s fundraiser to be more successful and improved.  A date selected and on the schedule with Saint John’s United Methodist Church for Saturday,  September 28, 2024. Local potters are working to bring back Empty Bowls to Albuquerque and

NMPCA is helping to spread the word.


The public is invited to Albuquerque Empty Bowls at St. John’s United Methodist Church at 2626 Arizona St. NE in Albuquerque on Saturday, September 28, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Handmade bowls made by Albuquerque potters and food donated by area restaurants and food establishments will be provided to reincarnate the popular fundraiser to help alleviate food insecurity in our area. Storehouse New Mexico --a nonprofit community-based food pantry that provides free groceries to people in need-- will benefit from all bowl sales. Tickets will be on sale soon at Storehouse website: https://storehousenm.org $35 includes bowl, soup, bread, dessert, drink. Tickets will also be available at the door.
 Albuquerque Empty Bowls, the event, is Albuquerque’s version of the grassroots movement by artists and craftspeople in cities and towns around the world to raise money for food related charities to care for and feed the hungry in their communities (https://emptybowls.com).

Empty Bowls making potluck for Sunday, August 17th.  10:00 am to 6:00 PM

Bring a snack to share if you can. You can reserve a wheel at https://creativitywarehouse.com/parties-1 

and then select Empty Bowls at the top.

Hand building folks do not need to reserve a time as we have plenty of space.

Also, if you are not able to come in on this day but would like to make some bowls

please just give us a call and we will find a time for you to come in and make.
