Sunport Ceramics Showcase 

Exhibit Runs from April 1, 2023 to April 30, 2023

Online applications for entry begin on Jan. 2, 2023. Read this Call for Entries carefully, prepare your image(s), and then click "Register" at left to submit your entry(s). 

The Sunport Ceramics Showcase will be a juried show of 60 entries. The goal is to acquaint the public with the vast array of quality works in clay from the NMPCA membership. Each member can submit up to two pieces. If you are not a member of NMPCA, it is easy to join on www.nmpotters.org.

Applications will be accepted from Monday, January 2, 2023 through midnight of February 19, 2023. Please review the link to the Artist Agreement; good quality digital images are required at the time of application along with the $15.00 (per piece) non-refundable application fee.

Images of selected work will also be displayed on our website, www.nmpotters.org

SIZE OF WORK and LIMITATIONS
Work must fit on an 18 inch square base. The weight should not exceed 35 pounds. Height should not exceed 5 feet.  Works that do not meet showcase specifications may be excluded.  If your entry exceeds these limitations you must consult with the committee first to see if it can be accommodated.

Wall pieces must be submitted with a secure hanging method and accompanied by sufficient hardware. Hanging weight should not exceed 15 pounds (firm). 

SALES

All sales will be handled by the artist. Artist information will be available on NMPCA website and on an information card near the work in the showcase.  Works not for sale should be indicated as NFS.

ENTRIES 

Submit your application by clicking "register" at top left of webpage. Entry fee is $15 per piece. Payment can be made online through our easy and secure online payment system.  

Registration closes at midnight of February 19th. NOTE:   Have your image ready when you register and it must meet the specifications described below.

On the registration page, enter the following:

1.      the title of the piece

2.      outside dimensions expressed as h x w x d (in inches)

3.      price as whole dollars, no cents, no dollar sign

4.      click “choose file” to select the image.

IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS

A digital image of each entry is required. These will be used for website and show setup planning. Image must be uploaded at the time of registration. The committee reserves the right to reject images or entries not prepared appropriately. If an acceptable image is not received, the work will not be juried and entry fee is forfeited.

Instructions for preparation of image: Your image must be in focus with a clean, plain background. Your image must be a jpg file and 800 px high to maximum 1000px wide, not to exceed 1mb in size. Important: The name of the file should be LastnameFirstname_Title.jpg. No spaces, no punctuation in the file name except the underline used as a separator. If you do not name the file properly, your image may be lost. Be aware that it is extremely difficult to control the name of an uploaded file from a phone or ipad, so please upload the image from your pc or mac computer after you have renamed the file. INSURANCE and LIABILITY

The Sunport provides insurance for the work once it is installed at the Sunport until it is taken down.  Value of each piece must be in writing on the Artwork Label. Artist exhibiting work agrees to hold the NMPCA and NMPCA volunteers harmless from any costs or claims arising out of any damages or losses in handling, and setting up of work. We will do our utmost to take care of the work.

VOLUNTEERS

We will need some volunteers to help with this exhibit. If accepted into the exhibit, you will receive information about volunteer jobs. We may also call upon you for specific tasks.

DROP OFF & PICKUP OF WORK

We will contact you with a firm scheduled time to bring your work to the Sunport on Friday March 31, 2023.  The work you bring must be identical to the image submitted.  No substitutions allowed.  

All work must be picked up on Monday May1 between 10 am-12 noon.
